Milad Omranloo, born on 1977 in Ahvaz, is a composer, choir and orchestra conductor, former professor at Art University of Tehran and Islamic Azad University of Tehran, and the director of Tonal Music Academy. Preparatory to receiving his M.A. in music composition from Art University of Tehran and later becoming a professor of the university, he began studying music with maestros Mostafa Kamal Pourtorab, Sharif Lotfi, Hossein Dehlavi, Alireza Mashayekhi, Siavash Beyzai, Vartan Sahakian, etc. He was also instructed by the great Tajik composer, Maestro Tolib Khon Shakhidi, as well as maestros Ahmad Pejman, Khayyam Mirzazadeh from Azerbaijan and professor Dichko from Ukraine.
From 2000 to 2007, he worked as a timpanist, percussionist and the head of the percussion section with Tehran Symphony Orchestra in multiple concerts with conductors Ali Rahbari, Loris Tjeknavorian, Shardad Rohani, Fereydoun Naseri, Manouchehr Sahbai, Iraj Sahbai, Nader Mashayekhi, Derek Gleeson, etc. In 2005 he became a member of Iran National Orchestra under the conduction of Farhad Fakhredini, and later continued as both a timpanist and conductor assistant with the conductor Bardia Kiaras until 2012. Also, he was a guest musician in Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra during several performances in cities of Germany. He has also participated in timpani masterclasses in London under the instruction of Simon Carrington, the principle timpanist of London Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a composer, he has made several works and arrangements that are performed by Iran National Orchestra. Moreover, in January 2010, two of his works were performed by Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Alireza Ghorbani as the vocalist.
Beginning the profession of an orchestra conductor, he was instructed by Ali Rahbari, Loris Tjeknavorian, Iraj Sahbai and Erol Erdinc. He also participated in choir conducting masterclasses in several countries such as the Netherlands, Norway and the United States with the instructors Andre de Quadros, Thomas Caplin, Jose Van Volden and Micheal Glassner. Relevantly, his major pursuit of the field includes the foundation and conduction of Tehran Vocal Ensemble since 2006 which has been a pioneer vocal ensemble in the last ten years, performing several concerts around the country as well as successful participations in international festivals in South Korea, Spain, Italy, China, Latvia, Russia and the United Arab Emirates. The ensemble has two recorded albums, Vocapella and Vocapella 2. Proceeding with choir conduction, Milad Omranloo established Tonal Choir in 2015, which has also won various titles in international festivals in Sri Lanka and Italy. As a guest conductor, he conducted Carmina Burana concert in 2019 with Paytakht Orchestra alongside Tonal Choir in Vahdat Hall.
He has also collaborated with prominent figures of music such as performing with Kitaro, the notable Japanese composer, and also multiple concerts with professor Thomas Caplin from Norway, professor Henri Pompidor from France and Ms. Janja Knapič from Croatia.
Furthermore, he has also translated a number of educational books about music such as the nine volume series of Le Guid de Formation Musicale written by Michel Meriot and Alan Truchot.
Additionally, Milad Omranloo has been nominated as the official representative of Iran in World Choir Council by Interkultur organization alongside 70 other countries since 2010, and has been the honorary member of Association of Croatian Choral Directors participating in international choir festivals as jury since 2017.
